Saiminjutsu Re (催眠術Re, Official Homepage) is a 2014 visual novel by Fudegaki Soft.
The protagonist, Aoki Naoto, lives with his older brother, his older brother’s wife, Yukari, and Yukari’s younger sister, Yumi. One day, he receives a package from his grandfather containing a DVD purporting to teach him the secret of hypnosis. He is skeptical. After a bad experience confessing to Megumi, the school idol, he reconsiders. One piece of bad news, his perverted classmate, Murakoshi Shinta, has accidentally gotten a look at the DVD, too.
This is a remake/expansion of Saiminjutsu, Black Rainbow’s 2001 game that started the series. So, it’s mostly what you’d expect: Naoto uses his power to provide perverted pleasure. Shinta is doing the same, in the background, and he pops into the story occasionally. One thing I’ll say up front: the netorare bits with Shinta annoyed me. When playing the game, some events (on any route) can lead to Shinta swooping in to steal the girls, forcing Naoto to watch the spectacle. That’s fine, I guess, but I got sick of dodging it in every single route, over and over as I completed the game.
Enough about that. Let’s take a look at the game.
There are five main girls: Yukari, who is Naoto’s older brother’s wife; Yumi, who is Yukari’s younger sister (and who fills the role of Naoto’s younger sister); Megumi, Naoto’s classmate (who he has a crush on); Ryouko, Megumi’s friend (who dislikes Naoto); and Nanako, Naoto’s homeroom teacher.
In Yukari’s route, Naoto uses his power to convince Yukari to teach him about sex. That’s the same trick Susumu uses on his aunt, Shino, in Saiminjutsu 2, so you might be able to guess how this goes: first he has Yukari show him her pussy; then her masturbation; then they have sex; then he may have her get Yumi to join in; finally he convinces her that she’s to teach him how to impregnate a girl. Pretty much an identical story to that game. Depending on your choices, there’s a paizuri scene.
Like I said, you might get Yumi to join in, if you make the right choices. It’s under the guise of teaching Yumi about sex (just as Yukari was teaching Naoto), and of course Naoto helpfully volunteers to be Yumi’s practice dummy.
There’s also a Yumi route without Yukari, which is slightly more difficult to reach–you’ve got to time your choice correctly. In that one, Yumi will bring some of her schoolmates around for some fun.
Megumi’s route starts with Naoto promising to show Megumi a study technique that he used to improve his concentration, allowing him to do well on exams. Yes, baring her ass for Naoto is a crucial part of the technique.
Ryouko’s route begins similarly to Megumi’s: Naoto claims he wants to show her his study technique, to prove he didn’t cheat (as she accused him of doing). He uses the opportunity to cause her to want to do the opposite of everything he says (out of a strong desire not to agree with him), eventually leading to the naked cleanup scene you see above.
At the end of Ryouko’s route are a few scenes with her mother, and with both her and her mother together.
The beginning of Nanako’s route is very straightforward: he just hypnotizes her and tells her to make with the paizuri.
Later, Naoto ‘convinces’ her to teach him about dating, which leads to her going on a date with him in that outfit with a rotor on her clit. She’s one teacher that gives 100%.
Alternatively, there’s a somewhat darker route where she’s not such a willing participant.
Finally, there’s the obligatory harem ending. Not much to say about that. Naoto gets all the girls. The end.
I mentioned Shinta figuring into some NTR scenes, earlier. The implementation of those really sucks. basically, you (might) have a chance to make a choice that either leads directly to the NTR scenes or avoids them entirely. The game literally just presents a menu with Shinta asking you which girl he ought to rape.
Tell him you love Yumi the most, and you get a few scenes with Yumi and Shinta. The scenes aren’t bad, but they are clearly just tacked on for the sake of having NTR.
Finally, late in the game, Naoto’s grandfather might show up. When he does, he takes the girls for himself, and Naoto becomes his ‘willing’ servant.
The only thing that remains worth mentioning is that the good endings have pregnant sex scenes, if you’re interested in those.
Okay, that’s a pretty complete overview of the game. So, what’s my overall impression? I think it’s about on par with Saiminjutsu 3, which is to say that it’s not the best game in the series, but it’s not too bad. My main complaint is that it’s too shallow. Yukari’s route, for example, has just five solo scenes and four more potential scenes with Yumi. She does show up in several of the NTR scenes, of course, but they’re not exactly part of the storyline. Megumi’s route has nine scenes, too. By way of comparison, in Saiminjutsu 2, Sawa has about 17 scenes (if we ignore a couple that we probably should ignore, for this purpose). Too, Saiminjutsu 2 has 112 CG, and Saiminjutsu Re has only 83.
The final word: I recommend this for fans of the series. For those new to the series, go with the second instalment, instead.
